Five Stars for Victoria Vane’s SHARP SHOOTIN’ COWBOY

Cowboy

This one is delicious! I literally devoured it in less the 24 hours. Once again, Victoria Vane takes us into the Wild West. American Sniper meets the Wolf Whisperer in this scorching hot romance, and sparks fly. I am happy to say that this one ends happily, as all good romances must, but it is a wild ride.

With her usual in-depth and brilliant research, Victoria delves into the world of the activists who work so hard to save endangered species in the wild, but she does a wonderful job of also showing the side of the ranchers whose livestock is constantly threatened by those wild creatures.

And did I mention there is a hot Marine in this one?

Yes, indeed, Reid is a bad ass sniper who serves his country for over eight years, but he is also the kind of man who finds the woman he wants and pursues her, unrelenting, working to make her love him in spite of their differences. And those differences are abundant. Reid and his family run a service that takes rich tourists out to shoot big game. Haley is a woman who has devoted her life to saving wolves specifically, and all species through her activism. So to say that Reid has his work cut out for him, I am understating the case. In spite of my own lack of interest in big game hunting, I rooted for him the entire time.

Haley also warmed my heart, as I watched her struggle between idealism and the realities of ranching in Wyoming. If you pick this book up, I think you’ll love it. I gave it five stars because it held my focus, and I simply could not put it down. A great read.
