I have to admit that there are many things about the Regency period that make me grateful to live in the here and now…the custom of ladies wearing hats is only one of them. While this bonnet is very pretty, I know myself well enough to realize that I don’t have the patience to put one of these on every time I leave the house. I also must admit that I do not possess the skill to trim a bonnet in such a pretty way. Â I wear hats only in winter, and then only to keep warm.
So as much as I love writing Regency romance, I love living in the Here and Now with my freedom from hats and gloves and my blessed indoor plumbing.
