The intrepid if somewhat foolish heroine, the absolute hotness of the clearly European Rudolph Valentino…in spite of its silent screen, eye rolling dramatics, I really had a blast. And when I read Victoria Vane’s remake of the original novel, I had a great time all over again.

The wild kidnapping that serves only to cover family intrigue, the romance that comes too close to rape for the heroine’s taste and for my peace of mind, the bizarre erotic domination that turns into true love…this book is a wild ride in more ways than one. I thought I knew this piece until I read Victoria Vane’s version of it, and found myself immersed in world I had not expected.

In the end, as in all romances, these two strong-willed people learn to live together in relative, if erotic, harmony. They never truly succeed in bridging the gaps between their cultures, but the reader is left with the sense that they are going to keep trying. I was also completely convinced that they loved each other, which for me is what makes a romance sing. So fives stars to Victoria Vane’s THE SHEIK RETOLD. A fabulous romantic romp.

Victoria Vane is an award-winning romance novelist, cowboy addict and history junkie whose collective works of fiction range from wildly comedic romps to emotionally compelling erotic romance.
