Blackwater Falls

My week looking back on the beauty and serenity of West Virginia ends today with this one minute video of Blackwater Falls. This doesn’t quite capture it but gives a jumping off point to help you imagine the peace and tranquility of this lovely place.

When I look at this video, I wish I had been able to do a better job of capturing the beauty of Blackwater Falls in West Virginia. The sound of the water in the background is almost overpowering, but I hope the view of the greenery makes up for the noise. The Falls come in toward the end, but most of this video was spent trying to capture a moment with two of the myriad butterflies that covered this place the entire week I was visiting. In many cultures, a butterfly landing on you is considered a blessing. During the time I spent in West Virginia, I was surrounded by blessings.

Cathedral State Park

Last year, I had the joy of driving to West Virginia and taking in the beauty of their state parks. I saw deer and bears (from a distance, thank goodness), and the entire experience was one of bliss and peace. As I write in the Cave, writing my latest work in progress, I thought I would put up a video blog from a year ago. The peace and beauty of West Virginia come into the Cave with me and feed my soul even while I sit at my computer.
