HNS 2011
Historical Novel Society Conference 2011
Wednesday, June 15th, 2011 | HNS 2011 | 2 Comments
How excited am I to be flying to San Diego tomorrow for the Historical Novel Society’s conference? I’m a writer and a wordsmith, but I have no words to describe it.
The Zoo and the Pacific and Balboa Park and the ships of the Maritime Museum…I could go on, but I won’t.
Instead, I will mention the joys of the conference itself: getting to hear Diana Gabaldon read from her work, love scenes one evening and battle scenes the next. Finally getting to meet Cecelia Holland, one of the guests of honor, and dozens of other fabulous people who I have met online and will now get to see in person.
And I know when I get home I will be exhausted, and will laze around for a day with cat-like indolence. Just one more pleasure to look forward to.

I am so excited! I am going to be on a panel at this June’s Historical Novel Society… I was fortunate enough to attend their conference in 2009, where I got to meet a ton of amazing people, published and non-published writers. And this June, I will actually get to speak. I will be on the panel Making Characters Believable…
Eleanor is so much larger than life, but I think she is believable…I am going to have a great time coming up with a short speech on this one…
