With my novel finished at last, I am happily reading Wendy Wax’s THE ACCIDENTAL BESTSELLER. What writer wouldn’t grab a title like that? And the book is a  lot of fun…a group of friends finding their ways out of tough times…the writing is just one aspect of it. I’m really enjoying it.

This week I am not reading Regency Romance…for a change I am sampling the short stories of Alice Munro in her Nobel Prize and Man Booker Prize winning collection Dear Life: Stories. To find such beauty conveyed by the written word is truly inspiring. Pick up a copy, and inspire yourself. You won’t be sorry…

Regency Friday: The Midnight Rake

Friday, January 16th, 2015 | Regency Fridays | No Comments

I have my own copy of The Midnight Rake, just out this week from Anabelle Bryant, and so far I have not been able to put it down. I am on deadline with my own Regency romance due to my editor at the end of the month, but even so, between the day job and writing about my own lovers, Phineas and his lady keep pulling me back in. What a lovely problem to have…caught between two fun stories, my own and Anabelle’s. Hit the link below for more about The Midnight Rake…

The Midnight Rake by Anabelle Bryant

My buddy Anabelle Bryant has a new book out…I loved the first two and I can’t wait to get my hands on this one… Congratulations Anabelle! I have been looking forward to the story of how Phineas meets his match…

Book Description:

Phineas Betcham, Viscount Fenhurst is one of the country’s most eligible bachelors…which – to the heartbreak of each season’s new debutantes – is the way he intends to keep it. Because the broodingly handsome Viscount has vowed to keep emotions out of the bedchamber. And he is a man who always stays true to his word.

So when Penelope Rosebery arrives at his home, impoverished and in need of help, Phin is every inch the gentleman. But, beneath the surface, Penelope stirs a protective and passionate instinct within him. With her untamed beauty and lack of social ties, she’s something of a wildflower – delicate, spontaneous, and rare. And before long, Phineas finds himself tempted to abandon his rulebook…and leave etiquette behind until daybreak.
