Regency Friday Reads

I am having the best time reading my buddy’s romance Desperately Seeking Suzanna. I know I am a little biased, but Elizabeth Michels has hit this one out of the park. It is clever, fun, and filled with humor. And on top of that, Holden, Sue’s beau, is hot 🙂 My favorite thing about romance heroes…their hotness. I want to dive into HOW TO LOSE A LORD IN 10 DAYS OR LESS next…

Suzanna Cover

Her Cinderella Moment Sue Green just wanted one night to be the pretty one. But a few glasses of champagne and one wild disguise later, she’s in some serious trouble. Who knew the devastatingly handsome face of Lord Holden Ellis would get in the way of her foot?  And how exactly did all that high-kick dancing start in the first place? At least she blamed it all on her new persona–Suzanna. So Society’s most eligible bachelor will never find out the truth.   All Holden wants is the truth. Who was that vixen who seduced him so thoroughly, then disappeared? The only one who seems to have any answers about Suzanna is Miss Sue Green. She’s promised to help him find his mystery woman, but in truth she’s not being all that helpful. And in truth, the more time Holden spends with Sue–witty, pretty, and disarmingly honest–the more he realizes he may have found exactly what he’s been looking for all along…

JAs Writing Table

Caught up as I am at the moment with the new book and a separate copy editing project, I find myself distracted away from my blog and from the internet in general. But this morning I had a moment to think about what inspires me to keep writing even when life, the day job, and other projects tempt me away from my own fiction. When I came across this photo of the table where Jane Austen once wrote, I found myself inspired all over again. Set in the midst of a busy household, tucked away in this tiny chair, Jane Austen made Lizzie Bennett and Charlotte Lucas come to life.  Here’s to all the writers out there, wherever you’re sitting, with your iPad or laptop. Keep those words flowing.
