The Day the Book Comes Out
Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 | Eleanor of Aquitaine, The Queen's Pawn, The Writing Life, To Be Queen | 6 Comments
Well, as you no doubt know, if you have been reading my blog, my first novel, THE QUEEN’S PAWN, was officially released yesterday. The response of lovely reviews and generous readers is almost overwhelming, but in a wonderful way. The people who read and write historical fiction are among the best people I have been privileged to meet.
Of course, even as THE QUEEN’S PAWN rolls into the homes of those who have pre-ordered it, and as people begin to pick up copies at their local stores, I sit at my computer, just as I have done for the last 12 years, and I work. I am still spending time with Eleanor on the next novel, delving into her experiences as Queen of France. I find myself completely drawn into her world …or at least, as her world exists in my mind.
I am grateful this week not just for my book hitting the shelves, but for working with Eleanor and Claire on the next one. I am a fortunate woman.
