The Queen’s Pawn and Historical Boys
Tuesday, April 20th, 2010 | Guest Posts, The Queen's Pawn | No Comments
I dropped the ball yesterday and missed my post…I can still hear it bouncing…:) But the book signing on Saturday was a raging success…over 100 people showed up to say hi and we all had a great time. I was not the only one who wanted to hear a little Alais and Eleanor. It was fabulous. Thank you again to all who came out, on a beautiful sunny Saturday.
I am thrilled to say that The Queen’s Pawn is featured today on C.W. Gortner’s site, Historical Boys. Hit this link and come and take a look… thank you so much Christopher! We can’t wait for your book, The Confessions of Catherine De Medici coming out next month…
Book Signing at Barnes & Noble in Wilmington
Friday, April 16th, 2010 | The Writing Life | 6 Comments
I can not believe it…the date has finally arrived. Tomorrow I will do my first EVER book signing. They are even going to let me read a little from the novel first.
I know, I sound giddy, but that’s because I am. And not just from non-stop work on the next Eleanor book…I am giddy from reaching yet another milestone in my life as an author…my first signing. When I wrote the title for this blog, I first put :Book Singing. That is what I feel like, actually, so it must have been a Freudian slip. I do feel like singing. After 12 years of work, I will get to share my ladies in company. I think we will have a few people heading over there, but even if only five of us show up, if all five of us want to talk about Eleanor and Alais, it will be an amazing experience for me.

George Bernard Shaw on Life
Friday, April 9th, 2010 | Eleanor of Aquitaine | 1 Comment
Jemila Ericson of WHQR in Wilmington, NC gave me this quote today…I believe I have also heard it used by David Staller of Project Shaw in New York. This quote from George Bernard Shaw t is resonant with me, reminding me of how Eleanor, Henry, and Richard, all looked at the world.
Life is no "brief candle" for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.
