Eleanor: The Captive Queen

Friday, January 22nd, 2010 | Eleanor of Aquitaine

I am excited! There is more Eleanor coming in July 2010… as I mentioned before, Alison Weir has written a novel about Eleanor of Aquitaine. She wrote a novel I love about Lady Jane Gray called INNOCENT TRAITOR, and she wrote a lovely biography of Eleanor as well. So I am anxious to get my hands on this one.

Passages to the Past has a great write up about it…just follow this link to the post  for January 13, 2010.

I’m really looking forward to this one as well. I seem to like Weir’s fiction more than her nonfiction (althoug her latest book on Anne Boleyn’s final months was pretty interesting).

Hi Daphne,

I am a bit of a fiction junky, so I prefer fiction to non-fiction across the board. But I really enjoyed Ms. Weir’s take on Eleanor in her biography. It makes me that more eager to get this book. I’m even tempted to try to order it from the UK…it’s coming out there in April…

I still haven’t read Alison Weir’s recent non-fiction on Anne Boleyn’s last days…yet another book I need to get my hands on…

Hi Christy,

Thanks for the link! I really enjoy her non-fiction above her fiction, but I will definitely read this because there’s just something about Eleanor that calls to me! I’m sure you can relate ;-)

Have a good weekend Christy!
