A PLAY OF TREACHERY: Medieval Mystery Extraordinaire

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010 | Reviews, The Writing Life

All right…I never read mysteries. Well, almost never. But I met medieval mystery novelist Margaret Frazer at last year’s Historical Novel Society’s Conference, and after enjoying her intelligence and wit, I knew I had to start. I have just read her latest novel, A PLAY OF TREACHERY. I will not give the plot away here, but the actor, Joliffe, while in service to his new lord, is called on to travel to France in the midst of the 100 Years War. Not his idea of a good time…and it just gets better from there. For anyone with any interest in the medieval period, and for anyone with a love for murder mysteries, I highly recommend this one. Follow this link, or traipse to the nearest bookstore, and buy this novel. You won’t be sorry.
