Richard the Lionhearted

“If once you sell your honor, at what price can you buy it back again?”
Quote from Richard the Lionhearted, not from real life, but to be used in a CE novel in the future.

I totally love this quote Christy to be used in future novel…wow! And not to compare but it sounds as inviting as Miss Moppet’s line of when Richard asks her if she would “like to see his swords”-LOL(taken from Adventures in Time Travel: Undercover at the Court of Henry II @ HistoricalFictiononline.com).
I’m already thinking of a thousand episodes where Richard could use this one line. It’s a good teaser quote! Looking forward to see it in one of your future novels CE

Hi Bella!
Didn’t you love that Adventures in Time Travel? I am so glad SKP put that up on her website…it was such a hoot! My Richard quote is inspiring, but not nearly as funny as “Let me show you my swords…” You just can’t beat that one!
I stumbled upon this site looking for a Richard the Lion-Hearted quote, and now I’m interested in your work. We were just learning about Elanor of Aquitaine- and I was thinking about how my text book doesn’t give much on her life. I thought she make a good story, and obviously she has one… but that is your task now. So anyway, I wish your quote was a historical one so I could use it for this project I’m doing; but instead I found another ordinary hero!

Hi Diamondtook,
It is tough getting quotes from people who lived that long ago. This quote is certainly in the spirit of Richard as I understand him, but I have never found it anywhere word for word in my research.
If it helps, during his lifetime Richard was known not as Richard the Lionhearted, but as Richard “Oc et No”, langue d’oc for Richard “Yes and No”…meaning I take it that he saw things in black and white, no shades of gray.
I hope you found someone good to write about, but I agree, Richard is one of my favorites. A true hero.
