The Queen’s Pawn on the Internet

I had a moment of real excitement this weekend when a friend, novelist Susan Holloway Scott, emailed me to let me know that my book, The Queen’s Pawn, garnered a mention on the website Passages to the Past, a blog devoted to nothing but historical fiction. My novel and cover art showed up on July 3 under a section devoted to next year’s fiction. I was over the moon…

When I saw my book, it’s cover art and description, there on the web, unconnected to me in any way, it made the sale and eventual printing of my novel that much more real. Other people have seen the cover art now, people who are not my family and friends, and some of those people are excited to read the book when it comes out.

I met a lot of wonderful people at the Historical Novel Society’s Conference in June (please stay tuned for more about that soon), but it seems the experience of that conference was just a taste of the world of historical fiction lovers. There are a lot of us out there, more than I realized. If you are one of us, check out Susan Bruno’s Passages to the Past. You will find what you’re looking for.
